I honestly thought my old shears were just fine until I ordered these. Wow, what a difference. The 12-inch blade cuts through 6 layers of heavy duck canvas without chewing or pushing the material forward. It literally glides like butter. They definitely have some real heft to them, but the weight actually does the cutting work for you. Total game changer for my studio.

I do a lot of upcycled denim work, and standard sewing scissors always hang up on thick flat-felled seams. These 12″ TONMA shears powered through four layers of 14oz denim without stalling or spreading the blades apart. The 5mm blade thickness gives you zero flex. Best tool purchase I’ve made all year.

The kickstand feature sounded minor, but it saves so much hassle. I work on a crowded cutting table with fabric bolts, rulers, and weights everywhere. Being able to set these down upright means they take up less footprint and I don’t accidentally knock them onto the floor.

A lot of heavy-duty shears fail at the final 1/4 inch of the tip, folding the fabric instead of shearing it cleanly. These snip cleanly from pivot to tip. Perfect for notching curves and trimming tight seam allowances on heavier suit jackets.

I have mild arthritis in my thumb joints and usually end up with aching hands after cutting out a garment. Because these shears have substantial weight and the NK-9 steel is so sharp, I barely have to squeeze the handles. The momentum carries the cut through effortlessly. Smooth tension right out of the box.

These arrive shaving sharp right out of the box. Beautiful balance, smooth action, and zero drag on cotton or polyester blends. Just make sure you pay 100% attention to where your free hand is, because these will cut through anything without the slightest resistance. 10/10 quality.
