If you need a good pair of long bladed dressmaker shears I highly recommend these. Nice & sharp, not very heavy. Easy to use with small hands despite the longer blade. Seem to be okay to use for long periods of time even with arthritis.

These are my third pair of fabric scissors this year — the first two were disappointments. TONMA finally got it right. The 10-inch length gives great leverage for long cuts through heavy coat wool, and the ergonomic handle means I can do a full day of cutting without the wrist ache I used to get. Highly recommend for anyone doing serious dressmaking.

Just okay for the first week — then I adjusted the tension nut and everything clicked. Once calibrated to my preference, these cut through 8 layers of fleece with zero snagging. I wish the instructions on adjusting the pivot were a bit clearer, but once you figure it out, the scissors are outstanding. Docking nothing for that — just a heads up for new users.

Gifted these to my mom who runs a small tailoring shop. She called me the same day to say they were the sharpest scissors she's ever used. She cuts leather accents and thick canvas regularly — she said it felt like cutting through paper. That's the best endorsement I can give.

I was skeptical about the "Made in Japan" claims on a lot of scissors lately, but these are the real deal. The titanium coating is noticeably different from my previous stainless steel shears — no friction, no drag, and after three months of daily use in my alterations shop, not a single rust spot. My silk and white linen thank me.

Received these well-packaged with a light factory oil on the blades — good sign. First impression: impressively sharp. More importantly, after several months of regular use cutting denim, canvas, and assorted fabrics, the blades have held their edge. The 25,000-cycle durability claim doesn't seem like marketing fluff. These perform consistently. That's all I ask from a professional tool.
